Sunnahs of the Prophet ﷺ in Daily Life – Easy Acts, Huge Rewards

Sunnahs of the Prophet ﷺ in Daily Life – Easy Acts, Huge Rewards

The beauty of Islam lies in its simplicity and the profound rewards attached to even the smallest of actions. The Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is filled with everyday practices that not only earn us rewards but also bring barakah (blessing), discipline, and spiritual growth to our lives. These acts are easy to adopt but offer immense rewards both in this life and the Hereafter.

Why Follow the Sunnah?

The Prophet ﷺ is the best example for humanity. By emulating his actions, speech, and character, we express our love and obedience to Allah ﷻ.

“Say: If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.”
(Qur’an 3:31)

Following the Sunnah strengthens our Iman, perfects our worship, and brings us closer to Jannah.

Daily Sunnahs That Are Easy Yet Powerful

1. Waking Up with Dhikr and Du'a

Start the day with:

“Alhamdulillahilladhi ahyana ba’da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur.”
“All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.”
(Bukhari)

💡 Reward: A reminder of the afterlife and gratitude for life.

2. Using the Miswak or Brushing Teeth Before Salah

The Prophet ﷺ loved to keep his mouth clean before prayers.

“Were it not for the hardship upon my Ummah, I would have ordered them to use the Miswak for every prayer.”
(Bukhari)

💡 Reward: Cleanses the mouth and earns reward like following a compulsory act.

3. Saying “Bismillah” Before Eating

This simple phrase brings barakah to food and prevents Shaytan from sharing your meal.

“Mention the name of Allah, eat with your right hand and eat from what is near you.”
(Bukhari)

💡 Reward: Sunnah and protection in a single sentence.

4. Eating with the Right Hand, Sitting Down

The Prophet ﷺ always ate sitting down with humility, using his right hand.

“Do not eat with your left hand, for Shaytan eats with his left hand.”
(Muslim)

5. Greeting with Salaam

Whether entering your home or meeting someone, say:

“As-Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah.”

“Spread Salaam among yourselves.”
(Muslim)

💡 Reward: Builds love and gets you 10 to 30 rewards each time.

6. Smiling at Others

A small act with big impact.

“Your smile for your brother is charity.”
(Tirmidhi)

7. Entering and Exiting the Toilet with Du’a

Entering:

“Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal khubthi wal khabaa’ith.”
Exiting:
“Ghufranak.”

💡 Reward: Protection from harm and sin.

8. Making Wudhu Before Sleep

Sleeping in a state of Wudhu ensures angels remain with you through the night.

“When you go to bed, perform ablution like that for the prayer, then lie down on your right side…”
(Bukhari)

9. Visiting the Sick

A forgotten Sunnah that builds compassion.

“There is no Muslim who visits a sick Muslim in the morning but that seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him…”
(Tirmidhi)

10. Saying Du'a When Leaving the House

“Bismillah, tawakkaltu ‘ala Allah, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.”
(In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor might except with Allah)
(Abu Dawood)

💡 Reward: Angels protect you, Shaytan is kept away.
